Yercaud – Best 10 Places To Visit

Where is Yercaud ?

Yercaud is a hill station situated in Eastern Ghats. It comes under Salem district,Tamilnadu.Yercaud is surrounded by the forest area which can be a best place to relax for a day.Yercaud is popularly known as Queen of Eastern Ghats.

Some of the places I have known and visited for a day in Yercaud were Lady’s seat,Gents seat,Children’s seat,Botanical garden,Rose garden,Lake and Anna park.

Yercaud comprises astonishing viewpoints, forests and lakes.

Tourists attractions in Yercaud:

Tourists are common to visit this beautiful place in weekends.

Lady’s seat:

Lady’s seat is one of the best viewpoints in Yercaud. The distance from the Lady’s seat to Yercaud bus stand is about just 2 Km.There were many food shops along the way to Lady’s seat.

The best time to visit Lady’s seat is during the day.

Gent’s seat:

Gents seat is located near to the Lady’s seat.Walkable distance only. This viewpoint looks astonishing. The view of majestic mountains and thick forest is great. One can visit this place during day time.

Children’s seat:

The viewpoint of Children’s seat is so delightful which is also situated near the Lady’s seat and Gents seat.Normally during winter season the clouds floats and fog dances.

Botanical garden:

As I wondered on seeing all the tallest trees, admirable flower species, ways all along the trees and grasslands over there. One can take a walk for hours and engage with nature .This requires entry fees.

Anna Park:

Anna Park also gives an amazing view of flora.Children are more likely to play and enjoy in this place.

Rose garden:

This place gives an eye-catching treat for the tourists and the travellers. Also Yercaud is very popular for the blooming of a flower named Kurunji.

Yercaud lake:

Yercaud is the land of lakes and forests, the government offers boat rides to the tourists. This also has an entrance fee.

Kiliyur falls:

This falls is somewhat dangerous but beautiful.

Pagoda viewpoint:

This viewpoint is just 2 km from Yercaud.

How to reach Yercaud?

Chennai to Yercaud    -363km via NH79 and NH32

Bangalore to Yercaud -196km via NH44

Salem to Yercaud       -29km via SH188(local cabs and buses are available)

Accommodations in Yercaud:

It is better to stay in government approved resorts. There are many resorts and lodges which are not approved by the government.

I would prefer to stay at  Kolagalam Mainland Resort .It is located near to the main bus stand.

It’s better to have aadhar card in hand to get a government approved resort as it is very safe.

What I did in Yercaud ?

I travelled from Chennai to Yercaud as it took around 8 hours. After reaching Salem it took again an hour to reach the destination.Stepped into the magical land of Yercaud, felt the climate change all of the sudden as cold.

As I travelled for so long, I stayed in a resort near the Yercaud main bus stand. They treated so well.

They offered free breakfast and free wifi, but the signal was not up to the mark. It’s weak.

Nightlife in Yercaud:

I sat on a campfire for an hour.I killed my time there with tall trees, water flow nearby the steep and chill dew drops.

One fine night,1 a.m and cold fog all around, water from the forest came out under a small white coloured bridge.I started playing with the water flow for fun which was coming from a falls nearby in a narrow edge and there was a snake nearby the bushes which I didn’t notice at first ,accidentally I got escaped.

I shouted terribly the snake got scared by me it seems.Actually I got scared and shouted unfortunately because of my noise it got scared .It was scary at that time for me .But while thinking now it’s funny .I still wonder why I went out at that midnight with my friend .

As it was cold and there were none around us.It’s only just two girls in lonely roads.

I had dreamt of walking at midnight long ago. That has not happened for years.Fortunately my dream came true on that day.I felt really glad.

After an hour of peaceful walk in the fog ,a few dew drops hits my face which made me to feel this hill as a heaven. As I went to Yercaud in the month of October.

Places I Visited In Yercaud:

Next morning,I visited a few viewpoints like Lady’s seat where I was not able to see down the beauty of the hills as the mist and fog floated. It was full white when I saw down the viewpoint of hill.Stayed there for a few minutes for the mist clearance.

I don’t know what to do there so brought a spicy buttered baby corns and enjoyed with the breezy mist. Many shops are available for the visitors.

Next, I headed to Gent’s seat and Children’ s seat which are all viewpoints.I got a breathtaking view there than Lady’s seat due to some crystal spark of sunlight.

I took just 3 hours to explore the top viewpoints in Yercaud. The viewpoints are located very near to each other so it was easy to walk here and there.

Finally, headed to botanical and rose gardens. The end of my story in Yercaud!

Again eager to travel the 20 hairpin bends!

Best Season:

June to January

Nearby destinations:

Pondicherry:Pondicherry which is a well known French colony famous for various beaches and party nights. The distance from Yercaud is about 234 km.Pondicherry owns an airport.

Mahabalipuram:Mahabalipuram is a shore side town famous for historic scriptures and shore temples.

This blog covered Lady’s seat,Gents seat,Children’s seat,Botanical garden,Rose garden,Lake and Anna park.

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any techniques to help stop content from being stolen? I’d definitely appreciate it.
