Let’s go to Munnur Temple by riding

A road in between farms on either side. Munnur surrounds forests and farming, cranes, and small waterfalls. The distance between Munnur and Tindivanam is 20 kilometers.

I came to Munnur through a hilly road. The road journey was awesome. Evening winds strike my face. Elevating the sunset’s reflection on a nearby river. Two sunsets in a single frame. Oak Trees give me a cool breeze.

While driving a two-wheeler near silk oak trees. It showers a cold Breeze on us. A small waterfall pouring its water is so elegant. Many people in Munnur were washing their clothes in that river. Small children are playing with the river. Sunset + River + Children’s play + Oak trees= Munnur.

Adavalleeswarar Temple was built between 1600- 2000 years. Adavalleeswarar Temple was built by the 2nd Raja Raja Chola. He is the king. 200th temple of Chola Empire.(0432 -year of built).It takes approximately 12 years to complete this Temple.

What is famous in this Temple at Munnur? Why are people coming here? Let me answer this question. Lord Shiva sparkled for 1 second in a dancing position. so this temple is named as Adavalleeswarar. Ada means dancing in Tamil.

Once upon a time in Munnur. There lived hundreds and thousands of cows. A village keeper has 100 cows in his house. The village keeper will take his cows to eat grass. All 99 cows will eat the grasses. One Cow alone will go to a place daily. There was a Shiva Linga nearby. The cow pours its first milk of the day to Linga daily . Later villagers noted this mystery. They informed this similar scene daily. So, the king thought of building a temple over there. Lord Shiva himself blessed this temple with his divine presence and made the lingam float effortlessly in mid-air

I had a small connection with this Temple. I don’t believe in superstition and don’t worship God much. Pinch Of Me has some positive feelings towards Shiv. I was upset before going to this Temple. I purposely came here due to its calmness. Moreover, I want to relax in a calm environment.

A lady betrayed me so hard. I got to think about that in a loop. I am unable to forget that. So I just want to go out somewhere with my friend. We have got a calm place called Munnur. So we decided to go in. Half of my mind insisted on “Leave it”. Another half of my mind insisted “Take revenge”. I am in the middle of that feeling. One is good, another is bad.

I don’t know why my mind struggled. After some time I just sat there. I felt restless. The calmness or vibration calms me down. The vibrations of Munnur temple refresh with its calmness. My mind calmed down slowly. Suddenly I had a second thought of letting it go. I should not take any kind of revenge on anyone. After this thought, my mind is free. I would like to thank this Munnur and Munnur temple for relieving my stress. Nestled amidst lush greenery and surrounded by hills

Sometimes I need this kind of calm environment. Munnur is a less populated area and pollution-free. The feeling of connecting with nature is so real. In some places connecting with nature is tedious due to the crowd. But in some places like Munnur. We can feel the vibrations from the old times of our Ancestors. Rajendran-I’s Era at Munnur Temple: During Rajendran-I’s rule, “Kidaram Konda Chozhan Salai” served multiple purposes like a choultry, school, or hospital. Notably, 120 Saava moova peradu were donated to Chatur Veda Brahmins, regulating sheep or goats carefully.

In Kulothunga-II’s time, merchant Thamaiyan Ennayiravan acquired a 200 kuzhi land, forming Merchant Street. Gnanamurthy Pattan donated land with a water channel, and 500 kuzhi land was offered as penance.

Kulothunga –III

In Kulothunga –III’s time, Sirupadi Village (Kulothunga Chozha Nallur) was generously gifted to Munnur Temple. Samandan Adhiyaman enhanced infrastructure and conducted Kumbhabhishekam.
