A Terrific Trip To Shanti Stupa-Rajgir

What is there in Rajgir?

Rajgir is a town situated in Bihar. Rajgir is a hilly area with moderate temperature. It is cold during winter and has moderate temperature in the summer season. Rajgir is famous for Vishwa Shanti Stupa. It is located on a huge mountain top.

In this blog we will travel to Rajgir town and visit the top of the mountain by a rope car. In the top of the mountain a Vishwa Shanti Stupa is located. It is a tourist attraction of Rajgir.

Gaya To Rajgir

From Gaya I travelled to Rajgir by a car. The distance between Gaya and  Rajgir is  66  km. Local transport also available from Gaya. The way from Gaya to Rajgir is full of greenery and tall shed trees for the long run.

By the way, the mountains and clouds were playing with the misty sunny rays. It was somewhat hot in the town. Also it was a sunny day too.

Down the lane of the hill few shops like toys for children, food shops for tourist people and other jewel shops were available. Some fruits shops were there. In a Pineapple shop I just bought a pineapple just to eat whenever I feel tired. I didn’t notice that in the top while moving from down-more monkeys would be there.

Twist

To reach the top from ground steps are not there. Everyone used to move ahead by a wired rope car. No common transport. Each and everyone of us headed up through the rope car. As the Bihar Government decided to provide a thrilling experience for all irrespective of their age.

Shanti Stupa

I thought it would just be a small riding experience as we all experienced in theme parks. I was so cool before one guy put a long steel knot for safety.

Unique ExpressionsShanti Stupa

I could see all the foreign tourist people enjoying their rope-car trip. Started to ride on that. Each and everyone will move in one single rope car. After few seconds of riding I can see the people returning from the top to down.

Some faces are terrified, some faces are smiley ,some faces are like they are in some confusion and some are in fear. Few people are really enjoying the ride by having a bit of conversation with whoever crosses -“hello ,hi ,how are you? Where are you from?” By doing this they entertained some terrified faces like me.

Above 2000 feetShanti Stupa

In between the ride I just looked down and lost my conscious mind all of the sudden. Can you feel my mind? I was in the middle of a slope whose altitude is around 2200 feet. What I would think at that time?

I literally thought like if this wire got fired and I might fall down in the middle of the sloppy forest. I might die without even realizing. Even if I die none can find me in the middle of the forest. Fortunately my mind murdered me.

A Chinese girlShanti Stupa

God sent a Chinese woman when I was terrified in the altitude of 2200 feet. She smiled and nodded her head and we had seconds of conversation.

I didn’t understand anything rather than a “Hi”. My mouth didn’t even open it was shut I couldn’t say even a hi in return to her. Somehow I started thinking what she said? so for 4  minutes I escaped from the fear of heights unknowingly. Even a small seconds of conversation can change you completely!

Illusion

Maybe she said hi then she said something in Chinese that I can’t even guess. At the age of 20 after this ride I have understood that mind is a big illusion. As I realized learnt from that 7-8 minutes of thrill travel. It was a good  lesson for me.

It was a great experience as I overcame some sort of fear of heights. It was a memorable minute of my life.

Monkey’s adventure – Shanti Stupa

After that ride, I needed to walk for a few miles on a rocky, steep mountain with enormous trees on either side.

Different culture, different state, different language, different faces, different experience. I just ate something and walked on the slope. Again another problem came to me, monkeys were hungry it seemed.

Those monkeys saw my food which I was eating and just started chasing me for food. I just screamed “maaa” “maaa” My heart skipped its beat. Many people shouted me to throw the food to them. I Just threw the food I got. Then those monkeys ate happily after terrifying me. Again I would like to thank a guy whoever saved me. At present while thinking that incident I’m getting laugh. But that day…..

Kind gesture of a womanShanti Stupa

Many monks are nearby. An woman greeted all the monkeys with her food. She was very kind and friendly with all the monkeys .Monkey’s gang surrounded her and played with her .I got shocked after seeing that. How sweet gesture she has? I like animals but some sort of fear is there for monkeys.

Buddhist stupas are located in a huge white dome shaped building. Inside the dome many people from different nationalities with same minds meditating. Many Monks left their homes and stayed here only for the love and dedication towards Lord Buddha.

Mixed emotionsShanti Stupa

Such a spiritual place. It was cold in the top with the incredible sunshine. I was able to see the best view from the top. I was surrounded by greenery trees with white paint in the bottom, majestic mountains all the view, large farm ,pretty sunshine with a cloudy smile.

Monks are living a life which is quite opposite to us. Every destination is giving the fullest joy. Love ,fear, emotion, sacrifice are the mixed emotions I have witnessed from various people I have met there.
