Humcha is a small village in Western side of Karnataka,name of district is Shimoga.Humcha is famous for the following places like Jain pilgrims – Shri Padmavati Mata Jain Kshetra,Lord Parsanath idol in hillock, Kumudvathi river, Motikere ,Jain Mutt and Panchakoota Basadi.

Lucky tree:
This tree is related to Humcha Padmavati mata powers.It ages about 300 years and still the tree is green and still alive.
Small Hillock:
A small hillock is located at the backside of the Humcha Padmavati shrine.It is surrounded by forest.Lord Parsawanath Idol can be seen there.
Muttina Kere:
A pond filled with Lotus which is also associated with the Goddess Humcha Padmavati story.People lived in the seventh century used this water for their many purposes .The water comes from Kumudvathi river which originates in the forest.
Panchakoota Basadi:
As of now the Archaeological department of Karnataka monitors this place for preserving and investigating the history of Humcha Padmavati
.This is the place where idols were kept.In each stone the life of the people lived in Humcha,how they worshipped the goddess Humcha Padmavati mata,how the king and queen protected their kingdom etc,everything has been inscripted.

What did I do in Humcha?
One fine morning started my journey from Bangalore to Humcha via National Highways 48.There are two routes to reach -one is from National Highways 48 and State Highways 24,another one route is NH48(extra approx 40 kms).
It took 10-11 hours for me as I chose the longest distance to cover a few villages in Karnataka.My route -Bangalore -Tumkur-Arsikere-Kadur-NR Pura-Humcha.
I had some pinch of patience to view each and every villages and towns throughout my journey ,so I took the longest route to reach Humcha from Bangalore.
To reach fast stick on National Highways.It would take around 8 hours only.Coming back to my story,I reached Tarikere at 7pm, After a few kilometres from Tarikere the forest area began.
The route was very dark and haunted like only few vehicles were in the Bhadravathi region.Since morning it was hot,after 7pm I realised the real heaven at Bhadravati.

Opened the window,held out my face where cool wind striked my face,haunted dark and tall trees all along the either side,no shops ,no people,a large-length river flows under a bridge,night drive with twists and turns all over the forest way,low pitch music,peaceful atmosphere.Isn’t it feel like heaven?I felt !
Ahead of 20 kilometres, at 11:00pm I had a fresh feeling even after 12 hours of travel,and had a hot coffee nearby Tunga river.Night travel was my best memory.
Reached Humcha at midnight,stayed in Humcha Shri Padmavathi Dharamshalas.It was very comfortable as they were providing service for 24*7 for all the people.
Next morning,I went to Temple and Muttina Kere which was a pond and the water wouldn’t expire which was also related to the divine powers of the nearby Goddess then headed to Lakki tree which was green till date and this tree also related to the powers of Goddess.
Thirdly, I headed to a small hillock which was located behind the Lakki tree Humcha Padmavati mata Kshetra.At last ended my journey with Panchakuta Basadi.I will really miss this for sure.

History of Humcha: humcha padmavati story
A King named Jinadartha came to Humcha from Mathura.His guru gave Goddess Humcha Padmavati shrine to him to take to South India,King took the idol and started his journey with a horse,as he travelled more miles day by day with small amount of breaks in between.
He had a dream like a Goddess appeared and said stay in this place and make your capital as Humcha.
Goddess turned all iron into gold when the king touched the iron to the idol’s feet Humcha Padmavati mata gave all wealth to the kingdom.
Later on Goddess tested King’s devotion and love towards her,so she created two noselits one is good and another one is damaged.
The King gave the good noselit to his Queen and after a while he got to know that Goddess Humcha Padmavati had his good noselit which he gave to his wife.
The King realised his mistake and apologised to the Goddess Humcha Padmavati he built the temple for the Goddess and worshipped her.
