A Craziest Ride In Maithon

New Journey to Maithon

Maithon Dam is a huge reservoir and foremost tourist place for the people living over there. Dam is situated in Jharkhand. It is situated near Asansol, West Bengal. A eastern state in India. The approximate height is 50 meters. I reached from here via Dhanbad from Bihar. Dhanbad is basically a town near this dam. A fine morning ,around 8 a.m, the cool winds caught my attention! Let’s explore the craziest boat ride in Maithon.

Sweets near Maithon

As I was hungry, I felt restless. The weather was also cool. I had a hot jalebi from a shop nearby. Jalebi is a famous north Indian sweet variety. Jalebi will be orange in color with its sticky essences. It tastes good. It’s in circular shape. This was my first experience of eating original North Indian jalebi. Another one sweet was also common there .Is nothing ?but mango jelly. The mango jelly has the mango taste.it was made up of mango’s essence. It’s so soft and tasty. This became one of their favorite foods.

Children in Maithon

With the help of mango jelly and jalebi ,I feel strong at that moment .The tongue of mine enjoys it so well. Let’s head to the Maithon journey. Maithon Dam is situated in Maithon, Jharkhand .Surrounded by Maithon dam , there was a children’s park. The children park is covered by lot of trees and plants as usual .The cute little children were enjoying by playing hide and seek over there. Some children were playing circus and see-saw which reminded that damn nostalgic childhood days.

Barakar, Maithon

On the left hand side, the rain water is stored .Government offers boat rides on the reservoir. On than other side ,a wall of 50 m high dam is situated. There were several pathways for the water coming from the reservoir. Whenever the reservoir attains its high level, the pathways present in the wall pushes out the water from the reservoir.

Like this ,based on the water capacity and usage ,the rain water stored in the reservoir flows through the dam. This water would be used by the local village people of West Bengal. Mostly pedal boats were not used. Only motor boats were used for the rides. This is due to the high presence of tourist people.

Devasting,

The side pathways are filled with cemented stone slopes .This good maintenance prevents the devastating accidents. There were a lot of people waiting excitedly to ride in the boat. The fog and mist playing with each other as usual .Finally ,I got that ride ticket and ready for the ride. The gave a life jacket in orange color. I was in the whole mood to ride .I have not yet thought about my swimming skills. Oh my god ! I have got zero swimming skills. Yet I need to ride! 

Torturous Mind in Maithon

On the other hand, my mind started it torture, like as usual “What if I fall into the dam?” “I don’t know how to swim” ,“even if i fall it would be so chill” .This endless thoughts disturbed me .But nature always helps to overcome those unwanted thoughts. The fog, mist, chill weather, cold water, cool breeze combined together to brainwashed unwanted thoughts.

Joy

I was all set to take up the fresh ride .Whatever happens let it happen. Few trees were there in the middle of the reservoir. It looks like an island from far away for me. The motor sound of the boat gushes in my ear, the journey starts. The high speed of the boat paves the way for joy. My face was hit by cool winds and water droplets sprinkled from the reservoir. All of sudden, the rain welcomes. Again my face got hit by those glitter drops from sky. Nature is magical. Rain is a god for all of us.

In between Physics

As the boat speed increases, the joy of mine also increases, as speed is directly proportional to joy .I don’t get involved in Physics, yet its coming automatically in flow. I held my eyes closed and felt a good vibe of it. As they took a round on that island ,I was like “Oh my god, how splendid is this feel?” It was like an oasis in the desert. Island gives the full beauty of the ocean too.

Beauty of Maithon

I behaved in a different way while getting into the flow with Barakar river .I shouted in full-pitch and tried to touch the cold water with my hand .We will mostly try to wipe the sea or river while riding in a motor boat, Am I Right? Two hands held freely in cool breezy air. The name of the river ,where they built this wonderful dam is “Barakar” river. That’s the end of my ride in Barakar river. Though it didn’t last for even 5 minutes it went so well. Good times will run so fast .Right? It’s true. It ran too fast. Feels like a single second. Enjoyed those special moments.

Later on, again my eyes wandered to eat good food which I haven’t  tried before .Unfortunately I got nothing new. Barakar river said “good bye ,visit again” . I nodded and went to Durgapur .This ride will cherish forever. A good feel and memory. Durgapur is an industrial area and town as well. Durgapur is only few kilometers away from Maithon. Durgapur owns airport .So I hope it will be a better option to come by air.
