Puducherry Tourism:

Puducherry is an union territory. It is situated in the coastline of TamilNadu. Puducherry was possessed by French nationalities earlier so it was popularly known as French colony. The scenic beaches and its nightlife are the major goals of Puducherry Tourism.

Some of the fascinations in Puducherry we gonna witness are

Promenade Beach ,Auroville beach, Serenity Beach, Paradise beach, Chunnambar boat house, Ousteri Lake

Puducherry Tourism: Promenade Beach:

One of the crowdest beaches in Pondicherry is Promenade Beach.Mahatma Gandhi statue and Goubert French war memorial are located.

French nationalities are common in Pondicherry even before Indian Independence. More cafés and restaurants are available along the wayside. This beach is very clean.

Also many Rock beach resorts are available for staying tuned with the beach view.

Goubert Avenue:

This was built for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Second World War. It is a French war memorial.

Mahatma Gandhi statue:

The centre of attraction in this beach is “Mahatma Gandhi-Father of our Nation” statue. As this statue reminds the Independence of Puducherry.

Bharathi Park:

This park is situated near the beach. Children are most welcomed to enjoy this place.

Puducherry Tourism: Auroville Beach:

Auroville Beach is popular for fishing and boating near a location named Bommayapalayam. Auroville Beach is less crowded than Promenade beach. This Beach is located in the outskirts of the city. It is peaceful. Many foreigners tend to relax here.

Puducherry Tourism: Serenity Beach:

Serenity Beach is located near Auroville Beach. Serenity Beach has a magnificent view of the narrow greeny coconut trees. This Beach is crowded usually.

Puducherry Tourism: Paradise Beach:

Paradise beach connects the River Chummabar to Bay of Bengal.The water from Chummabar drains into the sea.People from other states come here and sunbathe in summer.A boat ride needs to be taken in Chunnambar river to reach this Paradise beach.

This beach is situated on the way to Cuddalore.

Puducherry Tourism : Chunnambar:

Chunnambar is a river where tourist people tend to ride in motor boats.With the fast wind blowing around leaves a memorable mark in the face of tourists.This spot feels like a mini Alleppey.Boats are designed in such a way that they look so adorable.

After riding a few minutes a blue sea can be spotted. Guess the name of the sea ? Oh,It’s the Bay of Bengal. This boat ride also has entry fees depending on the type of boat on which we are riding.

Puducherry Tourism :OUSTERI LAKE:

This lake is also similar to the Chunnambar river. The lake is surrounded by the Lotus. The waxy leaves of Lotus with tiny droplets of water at its top surface! Everything looks wow!

Puducherry Government offers Boat rides in this scenic place.It is a good initiative as the tourists can enjoy the natural vibes all along the place.Nature is the best gift.Am I right?

Local people tend to kill their weekends here.Best time to visit is the winter season.

Puducherry Tourism: Auroville:

Auroville is a small town where we can observe people from different nationalities. The main motto of this town is UNITY. People over there promote unity and give places to stay. Auroville is surrounded by the calm forest environment Red soil is prominent here.

The Matir Mandir is the main attraction in Auroville. Dome shaped structure is popularly called as a globe where people meditate and acquire peace. This defines no religion which is an astounding approach.

Globe is gold in colour.This golden globe is surrounded by grasslands.Tourists from other nations visit often.The peaceful mind of an individual adds additional beauty.

9:00 am to 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Local volunteers in Auroville give chances to the outsiders to work with them. As they sell their own branded products which promotes unity between the locals and outsiders.

As the outsiders are also getting benefitted by the Local volunteers.

Puducherry Tourism: Botanical garden:

Trees aged over 100 years live in this garden.Rare beautiful flowers,majestic tall trees,calm environment fills joy to the soul.

Children are the ones who enjoy here as they are providing toy train rides. Tree house and Aquarium are also attracted by the Children. Starfishes and other kinds of fishes can be spotted.

Puducherry Tourism: Shri Aurobindo Ashram:

An Ashram which is located in White Town.Shri Aurobindo Ashram is a divine place where people tend to meditate and engage with peace.Photography is prohibited in this Ashram.

Time to Visit:8:00 am to 12 Noon;2:00 pm to 4:00pm

Probably, we should take breaks from our working life at times to find ourselves.

Puducherry Tourism: Sri Manakula Vinayagar Temple:

Lord Ganesh Idol is the famous treasure in this temple. This temple is located in White Town. Shri Aurobindo Ashram is near to this Temple.

Puducherry Tourism: The Sacred Heart Basilica:

One of the beautiful churches in Pondicherry.

Nearby Destinations:

Mahabalipuram:

The distance between Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram is about 95Kms.This place is famous for shore temples. The sculptures remind the History of Kings and his Kingdom. Also it shows the Idols of God at ancient times.

Still some temples and sculptures were drowned under the sea it seems.

Archaeologists are still trying hard to investigate and discover the History behind this place.

East Coast Road:

This is a coastal road connecting Chennai, the city capital of TamilNadu and Pondicherry. The distance between Pondicherry and Chennai is about 167 Kms.

Pichavaram:

Pichavaram is a region of Mangrove forests. Boat rides in Mangrove forest !The distance between Pondicherry and Pichavarm is about 94 Kms.
